We are based in the heart of the Norreys ward of Wokingham and as such have a heart for the community. We regularly run outreach events with local community groups and are the home of the Grub Club and SHARE Wokingham.
The Grub Club was formed in 2019 to support families in the school holidays who would normally access free school meals. Twice a week the church was open to families to come along and enjoy a meal and take part in activities.
During 2020, the Grub Club was not able to operate in the same way, however instead, weekly deliveries were made to families of cooking ingredients and recipes as well as activities to be done at home.
The Grub Club is a collaboration with Churches Together in Wokingham, Our Community First and Wokingham Borough Council.

At the start of COVID-19 situation, the Grub Club team were approached to offer their expertise in the area of food supply to families in Wokingham. We accessed stock which was surplus to requirement or had been cancelled due to the onset of lockdown. We were then able to share this food with the local community and others in need within the borough, thus SHARE was born!
SHARE is open to anyone who can come along to the Church, no referral is needed, allowing us to help those in need and also tackle the environmental issues of food waste!
Having the Church open during this difficult time has meant that the current relationships that had made within the community have been maintained, however it has also allowed us to build new relationships too, and understand issues that these individuals may be facing.
These are tough times but together, we can support one another and build a stronger community as a result, showing Christ's love for them in a practical way.
